Do you think life abroad is better than in India?

Life? - What you are living like right now
Abroad? - any place out of India
Better? - Money or standard of living?
I would first of all say that the answers here are emotional and hold nothing to what actually is being asked. Ashamed of people stating the only reason India is better, is, its “Our Country”. Its way more than that.
Before I answer, I will bring out some important facts.
  1. Supply Chain management and Manufacturing prowess of China and India combined are producing products that the whole world is consuming - starting from FMCG to medicine to Business Solutions
  2. The next revolution is the Digital revolution - India is at the heart of it - more jobs in India than anywhere possible
  3. Due to “Cheap” yet “Excellent” quality of skilled employee - India is the destination where everything is being developed - Don’t believe my word - just google how many .com giants are almost entirely in India
Now that the facts have been established let me comment on “Its just better and you cant deny it”
The simple answer is - A SYSTEM IS WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT.
Going word by word definition of the question
life abroad is better”
Yes and no. Yes, the public facilities are being provided and people are ready to take this up as community welfare task upon themselves to keep the surroundings clean. I lived in HSR layout Bangalore and frankly speaking, I found it better than few parts of London. Its just easier in Bangalore.
(all results from 1st link off google)
example - with conservative estimate of 100INR = 1GBP

If in a house hold arrangement you can hire a cook and a maid for cooking and cleaning - results from first link off google
uk- 765GBP per MONTH as per minimum wage for maids comes with contract and price is extra for contract closure, you cant hire dedicated cooks at a reasonable cost
India - 600GBP PER YEAR and no contracts, hire and fire at will.
TRANSPORT -
this will be an apples and oranges comparison so answering this with my experience.
Uber/ ola auto - without sharing from HSR to MG Road - 2.1GBP to 2.5GBP - for 11 Kms
Uber from Camden to Euston railway station - Uber pool - 5GBP for 1.6Km
Public transport is the same - UK also runs the Marcopolo Buses so no difference.
Same amount of traffic - my luck that the two cities I am associated with have horrible traffic.
SOMETHING NEW - you can cycle in London and there are dedicated cycle lanes - Londons avg temp is around 8*C to 15*C so best of luck with that.
RENT/HOUSING - its a huge topic so I will not comment - do your research
Findings of My research
  1. Price of 3BHK in Bellandur Bangalore with every imaginable facility and complete ownership *17 = one 1BHK in suburban London
  2. one year of maintenance in any housing society in DEL/BLR * 42 = One year housing tax
WHY AM I SO SKEPTICAL?
I am not - as a professional whose job is to analyse such environments and suggest solutions to government to improve plans for their citizens, I personally feel the following
  1. There is absolutely no difference in standard of living ( with the normal parameters being calculated) of you identify as a middle income
What does this mean - you will feel nothing new or nothing great - the middle class is the same with the same problems everywhere in the world (except for Dubai and Monaco)
If you are super rich, move out of India as India has speed bumps for which lamborginis are not designed unless you are interested in SUVs where you are fine again in India.
If you are poor and don’t know from where your next meal is coming, move to Europe as a Refugee - the EU makes sure no one dies of Hunger.
For the rest - its the same, be it Bangalore, Surat, London, Manchester, Paris Delhi.
“than in India”
No.
Understand the fact that the world is now looking up to the Indo-China economy as the next big consumer market.
“Coca Cola Tastes better” - be sure that with Data driven decision making in the age of Big Data - companies like Coca Cola understand that it is important that Coca Cola tastes the best in its largest markets. Also - it tastes the same everywhere, meh. So goes for all other FMCG products. I have used everything - trust me, Indian FMCG has unparalleled products at unimaginable prices.
Ease of Doing business index is what you have to watch for. The better that gets, the better everything else gets with it. India is already pacing up.
“Why don’t you come back?”
Its a global village. Most of Tech jobs are not localized and all the jobs find a root in India. Stop living in the stone age and think beyond what the eyes see. My personal journey is not a question here. And for the record - I will.
what about crime?
It’s a human thing to do and the rates are the same. Again, ask google and be amazed how easily we overlook data and make an opinion. In short - its less, but crime is crime and its same everywhere.
Do you think life abroad is better than in India?
If you are able to enter Very High (upper middle class or Lower Upper class) in any European Economy - Yes.
Chance of that happening - you decide
Will this magically happen - No, also, you are against all odds. (#maga, #brexit etc)
Should I go for the PR - No country will allow an immigrant without any skill and if you are a graduate, no.
